  3. Beautiful message, nice song. But idk of its a great quote unquote "single". Please don't get me wrong and say I'm hating or trolling, because I like the song. But didn't Lupe say he would avoid preaching/being political? Would've been a great if he just dropped it like "Jonylah Forever" not on an album or something. But as a single, I'm slightly disappointed. Was expecting more "ratchet" lol.

    1. So talking about cancer= preaching/political. I definitely learned something new today.

    2. Not necessarily preaching, but it's not exactly "just sticking to making music" or "ratchet" either. I like the song though.

    3. I see what you mean bro.. but great song of course

    4. See, I can't agree with you on that.

I honestly don't see how the song is even preachy.

By saying the song is preachy, you're limiting what you feel is "making music" and what subjects are not considered available to talk about as just making music.

The guy could be rapping about cancer, bubblegum, hoods, or the damn dinosaurs.

I mean it might just be me, but I honestly just don't see how it's preachy.

I certainly appreciate your opinion, but just the fact that you feel it's preachy, makes me feel like you feel certain subjects are only limited to certain types of songs. Which in reality anything goes.

Thanks for your time, take care.

    5. You're taking my use of the word "preachy" out of context. I didn't mean it in a negative way, I just meant that Lupe is preaching that we should stand up to cancer. I don't have one problem with the song, I'm just questioning it being a lead off single for the album. But thank you for your insightful reply!

    6. he's not "preaching" at all if you actually listen to the lyrics he is picturing the experience of cancer through the eyes of the sufferers, not once did he say that i believe that you the listener should stand up to cancer. All lupe did was raise awareness about it through emotion and it is up to you whether you feel personally to act upon this now you understand it better.

    7. He's preaching about cancer awareness. I'm not using the word "preaching" in a negative way. I honestly like the song, a lot in fact. I just don't like it being the first single off an album, from a music standpoint.

    8. So if you are made aware of anything it's preaching.

    9. I don't see how this is preachy at all. He is doing what he does best and storytelling about 3 different peoples struggle with the worlds worst and most fatal disease. This is actually my favorite 1st single he's done yet.

  6. What's the deal with people calling Lu preachy??? :/ This song isn't preachy. The song is merely an inspiring song about people battling cancer. I just do't get his fans at times. People need a song like this.

    1. Cause they are dumb. The only time lu was "preachy" was on ITAL(Roses) and that song is fucking great.

    2. i think that we need to focus on the fact that lupe has always taken songs that could easily could be made to have a totally different meaning but he chooses to use them for topics that need awareness. Honestly though no other artist in hip hop at his position would have done this and for that Lupe will forever have my admiration and respect. also the song is awesome, i cant stop singing that chorus out loud.....could of died but i came out fiiighting!!!!

  7. I don't get why people like these super-synthesized beats.. That god-awful Mario Kart Rainbow Road-type sound.. like 50 & JT Ayo Technology (aka - worst song ever).

  14. This is driving me slightly insane - does anyone know where to get the single in Australia? Is it available to anyone outside of the US at the moment? iTunes isn't carrying it, Google Play isn't carrying it, Warner Music's page doesn't have anything about the single coming out...am I missing something obvious? Because I will import this if I have to, but I'd rather not.
