Video: South Side Warriors [Documentary ft. Lupe Fiasco's father, Sensei Gregory Hamza Jaco]

As you may know, Lupe has practiced martial arts since he was a kid and has 4 black belts. This documentary from 2002 showcases the martial arts tradition that lives in Chicago due in large part to Lupe's father, the late Sensei Gregory Hamza Jaco and his Tornado School of Martial Arts. It also documents Stan McKinney and The Mount Carmel School Of Martial Arts, and features a performance from Dead Prez. Definitely a good watch, and you may recognize a familiar face at 5:13.

Thanks to Lupe for sharing this, and click HERE if the above video doesn't work!

  4. This is real. His father was a true leader and man, had a plan and understood the role in society and purpose it stood for. Gave further generations an outlet from there hoods and had great wisdom. May his soul rest in peace.

    2. Please write something coherent, or at least attempt to distinguish thoughts. The semi-ellipsis proved rather problematic.
