    1. George Orwell and Lupe on that same mission (he wrote that Animal Farm was the first book in which he had tried, with full consciousness of what he was doing, "to fuse political purpose and artistic purpose into one whole".) Relevant issues with great music, informative.

    1. no disrespect but i don't understand why ppl put so much emphasis on the beats. As a hip hop head, if the lyrics are on point idgaf what the beat is or sounds like. I never turned away from a good song because of the beat. In your defense, u said u kinda like it.

    2. To be fair, it's not music without the music. It would be poetry or spoken word. Which is cool too.

    3. I think dude is saying that the lyrics are on point but the instrumental that he's rapping over is an unconventional format which forces the listener to be distracted. But overall dope

    4. I've just never heard a "bad beat." Lasers was different though because that just wasn't a sound that did lupe justice, he doesn't belong in the pop music realm that Atlantic pushed him in. But I just hear too many ppl crying about beats like on FOTP when the lyricism was still there.

    5. I see what you're saying. But you have to think about it, a lot of people enjoy the melodic nature of a song. That's the reason why so many people view the millions of instrumental videos on YouTube. When you have that perfect cohesion of lyrics and instrumental = masterpiece.

    6. And I definitely enjoy the musicality of songs, I'm a fan of music period. But to me as far as hip hop, it's lyricism and then everything else. Good points tho Kaiser

    7. TJ, do some research before you talk. Poetry was meant to be sung.

    8. I'm the one who wrote that I didn't like the beat and I agree with all of u
I agree that we shouldn't base critique on the best if the lyrics is great but I also agree that the beat some times distract u and it doesn't allow u to finish listening. Of course we all have different tastes and the artist is not singing for one type of fans

For example I knew lupe from lasers and I lived it its one of my fav album

  24. What is Lupe doing? Why is he not putting these dope records on tetsuo and youth? why is her just releasing them? if he does that just put out a mixtape. I'm glad he's releasing the songs but at the same time these are so dope they're album worthy. I hope this means he has even better Songs for Tetsuo and youth
