Lupe Fiasco has told Newsbeat he found his record label "disrespectful" after they delayed the release of his latest album, Lasers.
A fan-started online petition was signed by 32,000 people last year to try to persuade the label, Atlantic, to release the follow-up to his 2007 album The Cool.
Lupe himself also joined nearly 300 fans in protesting outside the record company's New York offices in October 2010.
The Chicagoan has dedicated the LP, released this week, to "the people" because of his fans' support. - Newsbeat
