Lupe Fiasco's Lasers - 204k copies sold in the first Week

HitsDailyDouble's final numbers are in for this week. According to them Lasers sold 204,843 copies in the first week. Those aren't the official SoundScan numbers that will decide about the Billboard charts though, we'll have to wait for those until tomorrow.

SoundScan numbers usually don't vary much from those though...so this is pretty big. Lupe has the number 1 album in the States right now and this also marks the biggest first week sales of his career.

  10. FOTP & F&L2 is coming out because of the petition and protest not because of LASERS lol.

Despite the fact that I disliked the album I'm still happy for and I do hope that the album goes plat.

  15. this is what happens when you turn pop

  16. I told you this was going to be his best album yet. I don't like the pop processed beats but hey, if your goal is to reach the masses and deliver your message to the public...........sometimes you have to dumb it down. Dumbing it down doesn't always mean making booty shaking videos, cursing or degrading yourself. In this case it just means making something EVERYONE can understand.

  17. Also the bulk of Lupe's message was not comprimised on Lasers. He did not have to degrade women, curse or talk about drugs and nonsense to make a number one Album. Lupe your ass better celebrate. This is a VICTORY!! And as always you showed your hard core fans how to triumph against adversity and keep going. ....that is a Laser. Your struggle has shown us the meaning of what a true laser is, more than any album concept ever could.

  18. LASERS SUCKS!!! there's only like 3 good tracks on the album even on those tracks the lyrics are watered down like a FAT KID ON A DIET... Glad I got it for FREE. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...

  20. I hated the poppy music, but as far as his message out through the whole album been positive & something you can ever knock someone down for. Lasers has done it's job because now Lupe is getting a lot more exposure from people that never even probably listen to his music. So next album when he really showcase his skills on F&L2 people gonna really appreciate him more well that's what i'm hoping. Congrats though Lupe. First #1 album now let's make it platinum. LASERS!

  21. For those who don't like Lasers, remember what our boy said...."Somethin' new, Somethin' fresh, Somethin' different....a little to the left, a little upliftin'.

  25. This was a great album considering what Lupe had to go through to get it out there. It's only commercialized cause Atlantic had a lot of control over it. Let's not forget they WERE NOT even going to let him release the album so of course they had to get their way.

Great job Lupe. Food & Liquor 2, hopefully you get your control back. Cause that should be a GREAT album.
