  1. Atlantic Records sucks. Out of my head is nothing like the rest of the album, they forced him to release these songs and not others.

  2. I agree with you Anon. Out of my Head is not a Lupe record at all, but to be honest it ain't really bad just not his usual record I like from him. Coming Up is a record alot of people should listen to. MDMA is great on hook. Lasers leaked today which piss me off. SMH. I'm restraining myself from download cause I got my preorder already made at FYE. No album has ever made me restrain this much. Damn, I can't wait until next week when I wake up early and get that Lupe in my hand. Like this a special holiday for real hip-hop fans, you know. LASERS! March 8th. Cop it.

  3. its good, but when i heard it live its sounded more epic, but w/e im still coppin the album, LASERS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. The album is garbage, and I mean absolute garbage. Its got that Flo Rida feel with all the wack pop crap.

    ReplyDelete
  5. ^Yeah the album is weak. I was gonna cop the album if it was any good, but I think I'll save my bread.

    ReplyDelete
  6. He prepared y'all when he said the album was pop..So what did you expect?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Looooovee Coming Up!! not so much for out of my head...

    ReplyDelete
  8. My point exactly, but if they feel it's too poppish that them. I think it's a good album so far listening to the snippets on the iTunes Pass.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I expected some heat..This does sound like some Flo Rida ish..Atlantic Records should be ashamed. You want some pop ish then let B.O.B. do it. Please don't screw up another Lupe record! Folks protested and petitioned for this bull. SMH..

    ReplyDelete
  10. well i like the songs thas all that matters :/

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't think the album is that bad...It's not near the previous two, but its a decent effort.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yeah that's all that matters..Your happiness, but the hardcore Lu fans that have been down since F1/15pt1, I'm sorely disappointed. C'mon Lu!

    ReplyDelete
  13. On to F&L2, fuck Lasers....

    ReplyDelete
  14. I don't really think it can be compared to Flo Rida , it's still much deeper than anything Flo Rida could hope to do, there's a bit of soul in it and even songs that are really pop; he keeps his dignity and tries to make the best of it. that's enough for me.

    ReplyDelete
  15. R.I.P Lupe Fiasco... It was good knowing you...

    ReplyDelete
  16. wha?! if ur a real lupe fan u listen to all of it including japanese cartoon..lupe is a musical genius!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nah....I'm not into punk so I'm not into JC.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Just heard the album, and I'm sad. This is a major disappointment. Lu come on son with this crap.

    ReplyDelete
  19. well he did say it was gonna be sorta popish so u should've seen this coming

    ReplyDelete
  20. think of it this way though, F&LII will have more artistic freedom, so if this is what it takes for Lu to get a freedom, then I'm all for lasers.

As far as the album, it def doesnt compare to his first two albums, but if you listen to it not expecting to hear F&L or the cool, then its actually somewhat decent!

anyways I hope this album gets him some attention and generates great sales. I'm still a supporter until the end

    ReplyDelete
  21. @TGARA i totally agree with you, lupe is a genius

    ReplyDelete
  22. atlantic shoved more than half the album down his fucking throat, the fuck was he supposed to do? He almost comitted suicide over this shit and y'all are on here bitching as if he wanted it to be like this and purposely made it so. yea some of the album is left field and even bad in some cases, the songs that LUPE picked, the ones HE made are some of the best he's ever done. 2 Ways? All Black Everything? That's the real lupe, and that's what the fans protested for. If the release of Lasers will finally give Lu the complete artistic freedom he had on his previous two efforts then this is a job well done.

Long post short: fuck outta here with that "RIP Lupe Fiasco" shit. You sure as hell better not listen to F&LII, don't wanna fuck yourself over now ya hear

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm okay with this album because I know that F&L2 should be a return to his old style. This album doesn't suck, it just sounds like a lot of the MTV stuff out there with deeper lyrics. Also, F&L2 will hopefully take a lot less time to get out than LASERS did because he has had a lot of time to work on it. So I definitely won't be playing these songs on repeat (except for Words I Never Said, which is great), but I can wait.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Coming up is straight Lupe all the way and it's something I plan to bump. Out of my head says Atlantic all over it... I'm not downloading the leak because I bought the iTunes pass and the deluxe album pack. If people complain about this CD (though I think if you really love an artist you love all aspects of their talent) and just download we aren't supporting him to bring out future projects we know are going to be the shit! Lupe is expanding his fan-base which we can't hate on. He's one of the real voices of music out there let's keep it that way by helping come up! -Lasers-

    ReplyDelete
  25. "shitty album, but im a loyal fan so I will pretend I enjoy this corporate crap so I dont feel any real emotions, certainly not dissapointment."

Fck outta here. Boycott this crap

    ReplyDelete
  26. Any true Lupe fan knows that some of these tracks are truly beneath him. Really unfortunate that they forced these songs onto what should have been an epic ass album...but that's the biz for yah i suppose. Regardless support to Lupe all day, i mean we gonna get that fire when he releases some new mixtapes yah heard! Holla back on twitter if you feel me @plawn_

    ReplyDelete
  27. @plawn That's what bothers me. This album is a lot better than most of the stuff out there, but it's obvious that Lupe is far more talented than what is shown on this album. It feels like some of these songs would take Lupe only a few days to write. But his next album should be less "mainstream".

    ReplyDelete
  28. Atlantic Records vs Lupe; Atlantic Records Win! :( Awaiting a miracle mixtape...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Album is a let down, he needs to FOTP for the hardcore fans that want some real Lu. Atlantic really screwed Lupe over, and its beyond sad. Folks have been waiting on this album for years and it sounds like a lyrical Flo Rida album. Pathetic....

    ReplyDelete
  30. Damn haters calm down..... its not like Lupe wanted to release the album the way it is anyways, I am sure Lu will be back to his old self and drop dope shit after he made his money on Lasers.

    ReplyDelete
  31. people, what was he supposed to do?! he didnt have much of a say so and ya'll know that so what the fuck are you complaining for...Words I never said, all black everything, 2 ways and break the chain are really good, but yea ima take this album with a grain of salt....im still gonna buy it tho...cmon we gotta support our guy!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. foreals, you guys act like it hurts for Lupe to make money. The album is not that bad either, it still spreads positive message and that is what matters most, its not like his throwing out stupid line or anything. He should not have to always "keep it real" and please people that only listens to "real shit", That is just ignorant.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hahaha, Lasers was supposed to be the album for the people. This is what y'all wanted. You all fought so hard for this. (The album is admittedly mediocre, too many shitty hooks.)

    ReplyDelete
  34. First of all the album is quite decent. I've been a Lupe fan since his mixtapes. yeah so what if it doesn't sound like f&l or the cool? Do you think it's Lupes fault? Ofcourse not. what's with all this r.i.p Lupe. What other artist spits poitive messages with a club beat? Exactly none. I've listened to the album and I can't stop listening to it. And I'm still buying it. Yeah so what if the hooks have auto tune or the world play is simple. Lupe was forced to appeal to the masses so he can generate sales. we still got JP, FOTP and F&l 2 to look foward to. But by no means is LASERS a dissapointment. It's just Lupe being simple for once. And I'm alright with that just for one album.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I said on a another post that Lu needs to bring GemStones back in the fold. The hooks are absolutely abysmal. Gem would've put some edge to some of the preschoolish sounding hooks. I knew Lasers was an Atlantic Records album, but dang it really is an Atlantic records album.

    ReplyDelete
  36. F&L2 can't get here soon enough. I actually like some of the messages that Lu pushed, but man this album sucks. How did they mess up State Run Radio? That track is horrifying. Where is the Soundtrakk beats? He could've saved this album somewhat. I'm glad I downloaded the album to hear it early, so I can save my $10. Gas prices are to high for me to buy this crap. Go to hell Atlantic Records for screwing one of the great artist of our time.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Folks calm down. You should've known this wasn't gonna be hot. Nothing you've heard thus far is even on par with songs on F&L and the Cool. Why are y'all surprised?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I feel lime Atlantic is gonna control all future projects just to get back at Lu for not doing a 360 deal. IDK what our dude needs to do, but this album really for not for me.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Lu says he wouldnt sign to Good Music because he's his own boss at FnF and being under someone else wouldn't be right at this juncture of game. How's he his own boss? Especially when he couldn't control this monstrosity of an album. I don't want another Atlantic album like this folks. I'm gonna need a prescription after hearing that crap. SMH

    ReplyDelete
  40. LASERS is pop mainstream with a positive meaning, I guess everybody thats disappointed forgot what the manifesto is all about. People fought for this album to be released so at least be happy that you get new Lupe material this year. Lupe himself also said that he loves the album but he truly hates it at the same time. SMH at the haters who think LASERS is crap and calls themselves true fans.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Y'all niggahs r a sad bunch so called fans. Oh it's flo rida stuff that's a big disrespect in my books. Oh it's not like f&l and the cool we all knew it wasn't going to be like the last 2 albums. To all the real fans of lupe keep ur head up and go support by buying the album. We all fought for it now it's here.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Too all y'all people that dislike the album, Lupe feels the same way he ain't really digging his album neither which he said in a article. He wanted it to be like The Cool album, but as he said he wasn't in control of this one at all. Don't blame Lupe because Atlantic is the prime blame for this. I do believe that he ain't lose his touch. I believe he still the same Lupe we all know. Just with a bad company, but we can't blame him for all that. As true fans we can support him & then eventually we gonna hear the old Lupe on F&LII no doubt. At least what we can do is help him receive his first Platinum album. Lupe is highly underrated & don't get attention like this often from his music, so March 8th let's support him to the fullest cause we are the true fans that been down with him since day one.

    ReplyDelete
  43. How can you say that Lupe doesn't this album? I've seen him pushing about and talking about how much he loves it.

One of the songs is about his sister. The other is about a girl. Just because it has a different sound doesn't mean that Lupe is selling out or not in control.

Also, the album is called lasers. How did you expect it not to have a pop sound? smh

    ReplyDelete
  44. I completely agree with whoever posted about Gemini. Lupes hooks are really bad lol. His rhymes are outta this world but those hooks eh. Even Santos woulda helped but definetly soundtrack. His beats are sick on any measure WTF why didn't Atlantic at least give him one sound track beat! Ladies and gentlemen the only way to get classic Lu is in a mixtape I'm willing to bet that Atlantic takes control from here on out. If it actually sells it justifies what they did. If it don't they'll blame him dammed if u do damned if u dont

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm a true fan foreal, but we gotta survey the landscape here. We support it, and Aflantic hits Lu with a "I told you so" and takes over all future projects. We don't support and what do y'all think will happen? We need to protest that Lu gets control of future projects next. If they take over F&L2 then I'm done with Lu.

    ReplyDelete
  46. i think the album is cool. people are a little ridiculous comparing it to flo-rida. he still has his core message throughout the album. it's just surrounded by pop beats and pop hooks. he wanted to do a "popular" album to make it more accessible to a broader audience. yeah some beats and hooks were forced on him, but it's not like his verses had no substance on those songs. lupe has not fallen off. look at the songs released recently that aren't from lasers. i hope he gets new fans that finally get some positive "pop" music, and decide to go listen to his past albums

    ReplyDelete
  47. people acting like he sold out...

    ReplyDelete
  48. In a way he did I mean he coulda fought the power went on tour make money release mixtapes and let his buzz carry him on.

    ReplyDelete
  49. i don't think he sold out. to me selling out means he switched his content to some BS crap. i'm happy with new music knowing that more is coming.

    ReplyDelete
  50. i just got into lupe (tho i love him now), and i hardly know rap. when can f&l2 and/or a new mixtape be expected? based on the little ive heard, it seems highly unlikely for either to appear in 2011, especially given the fact lasers just came out after taking so long.

also, apart from the studio albums and the 4 mixtapes, what other songs can i find by him; is there some definitive list by him? ive heard like army girl, what u want, slr, the twilight song, white swans.. some of these i really like, so i dont want to miss another song thats not on an album.. id appreciate it if omeone can point me in the right direction!

    ReplyDelete
  51. He could've did mixtapes and keep his career moving is right exactly, but this SUCKS!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. http://www.kanyetothe.com/forum/index.php?topic=15902.0

pretty much every lupe song is listed here. and he plans on releasing F&L 2, Friend of the People, and another Japanese Cartoon album this year, but we'll see how that goes.

    ReplyDelete
  53. So If Lupe Goes Platinum Atlantic could take over all other Projects? Then if he does'nt do good Atlantic would be trying to get over on him again!?(Witch Means no F&L2, or maybe the way it was sposed to be.) If i Dont buy the album lupe gets put on blast for something he really could'nt have control of since day 1?

WELL FUCK IT THEN! YALL NIGGAS MAKE YALL OWN CHOICES!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Man, these songs is suspect. Lupe should definitely leave atlantic. I ain't heard not one tight verse from this album like the previous ones. All black everything is definitely a lupe fiasco track, The show goes on,Beautiful Lasers, and maybe some other tracks I haven't heard the other's are not.

    ReplyDelete
  55. A tear came out for real. It doesnt even feel like the same lupe fiasco. Dont get me wrong there are like 2 good songs. But man. One track is a damn near house/dance track. Whats with allthe auto tune??? And lupe is spitting some simple ass rhymes. I know i was expecting it to sound pop. But this is just too much. He doesnt even sound like he is really giving it 100 percent on these tracks. Every track on this shit is hook driven. I feel like that kid who woke up on christmas morning thinking he was getting a playstation, but ended up getting a snakes and ladders board set. There is like no soul in any of these beats. Remember the first time u heard Steady Mobbin!! (wipes tear). This jus sounds like electronic bullshit. Im reconsidering actually buying this on friday.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I hate the term 'real fan' or 'real music'. its straight like this: atlantic heavily influenced this album, and it's mediocre compared to what we've heard from Lupe before. You're not a delusional die-hard fan if you like it, but also not a 'fake' fan if you don't. I'm still going to buy it come Tuesday but I don't think there's a debate that this is some of his weaker stuff, whether or not it's his fault.

    ReplyDelete
  57. This is from Lupes twitter, look at what ya'll are doing to him:I never thought lasers would inspire so much negativity. Reading the comments and reactions is crushing.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I jus went for a 20min drivr to listen to this album. Headphones or shitty computer speakers dont do this album justice. The sound is amazing. And yall know what lupe still comes with it. He still has those easter eggs in there for the hardcore lupefans. Jus the fact that he is able to spit this kinda stuff on these type of beats is a skill within itself. He has defintley found a middle ground here. By no comparision are they on f&l status. But we must allow an artist to expirement with all types of canvas's. And this is still a great album. I guess where lupe made the mistake was, by sorta of telling us this album wouldnt be too good. He made due with with the label forced onto him. Appreciate it. He is still our homie. What other artists do u know fly half way across the world to give u pretty much 2 - 3 live shows a year in the same city? Btw im the same dude who posted jus before about steady mobbin. I think i was just angry that alot of my friends are gonna hop on lupes nuts now cos of this sound. And this isnt the lupe that was k own as being the best rapper alive / genius. But at least now lupe has a platform to touch more ppl with his music. And he didnt comprimise by spreading venom ij his lyrics. And i respect him for it.

  60. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO STATE RUN RADIO? FUCK ATLANTIC RECORDS.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ignore all the idiots who get mad when someone says this album is wack, it is Lu knows it so you "fans" shouldn't be making excuses, just do what I'm doing ignore this abysmal album and just pay for his concerts since that's how he really gets paid

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think I'll download Lasers off a torrent site then go out and buy a hard copy of Food & Liquor and The Cool.

    ReplyDelete
  63. the album sounds sick so far he repping black people and muslims nicely. i guess when you have a bunch of white boys as fans you gonna have haters.

    ReplyDelete
  64. OUT OF MY HEAD IS A LUPE JOINT & NOT ATLANTIC RECORDS!! LUPE SAID IT HIMSELF IN AN INTERVIEW THAT TREY SONGZ WANTED TO WORK WITH HIM SO THEY MADE A JOINT TOGETHER!!
    GEEZ!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. dude u suck! go buy the album, wow! these are not fans here SMDH

    ReplyDelete
  66. "Its to poppy." Nigga he said it was gonna be poppy like 2 months ago
and like last week there was an interview up in a magazine showing him saying "I hate my album. Come on people if you've been on this site for awhile then you should've known, it was poppy. But yet yall call yourselves fans of Lupe. Wow.
