Video: Dave Chappelle x Lupe Fiasco @ Dayton RACC

Dave surprised Lupe @ the Second Regional Academic and Cultural Collaborative in Dayton, OH where Lupe held a keynote about the core culture of hip hop and its place in today's society yesterday.

Chappelle gave him a skateboard on behalf of RACC and the Dayton, OH community. He also mentioned the #FiascoFriday rally briefly.

  3. Lupe also told everybody why Atlantic is delaying LASERS. It's some serious bllshit.

  4. not many other artist would get this type of reaction to a delayed album so Lupe doesn't need the overrated hype he has respect and the influence to make a difference

    FiascoFriday!!!!!!!!!

  6. @vanluther He said Atlantic wanted him to sign a contract that would give them 25% of anything he makes from shows or deals with other companies like Nike or whatever. He told them no so they threatened him by not pushing any of his new songs on the radio or given him money to make the videos (the I'm beamin' video came out of his own pocket). Also they basically don't like his music or they way he put it 'they think I'm whack'. So Atlantic sent him hooks they wanted him to do. He records them and sends them back but they didn't like them anymore and tried to have him change the hooks like 60 different times. In the end he had had enough.

  7. So if Lupe just signed the stupid contract, we would possibly have LASERS already?

    lolololololol HAHA

I dont believe that for one second because that would be so dumb on Lupe's part.

He's getting 75 percent of what he's doing..and they're getting 25...is he really that greedy?

I think you got the numbers wrong because then that wouldn't make any sense.

  8. well there was more to the contract than that but I kind of missed it.

  9. Uh, 25% is a lot. Especially when you have to pay for other expenses like lawyers and such

  10. I seriously doubt Lupe would get 75%. He still has to pay his people.

  11. 25 percent is not a lot.....Atlantic would be generous asking for just 25 percent of what Lupe makes.

  12. to the people who said 25% isn't a lot.

Think about it this way...you work a regular job, you have a contract and all but you also have a 2nd job...like, you're a waiter at a restaurant for 2 hours a day, your boss knows it and is cool with it but then one day he comes to you and wants you to sign a new contract which would give him 25% of what you're making with that job...would you sign it?

    I definitely wouldn't.

  13. So record labels only get 10 percent of what Lupe sells? Man rappers be hustlin lol. I know they wont get 90 percent but getting 20 percent is better than 10 lol

Honestly, I dont understand none of that industry stuff...but Ill just take as 25 percent is a lot. Even though it really doesnt make sense
