October 15th 2010 is 'Fiasco Friday' - The Rally Outside of Atlantic Records' HQ

(^^Design by MusicMan^^)

2 months ago the WeWantLasers Petition was started and over 28k people signed it so far but the only reaction we got from Atlantic Records was a tweet saying "Lasers is coming" and that's not enough!

If you think the petition would be the only thing we'd be doing to get this album released - you're wrong! On October 15th, Lupe Fiasco fans will gather in New York City to protest in front of the Atlantic Records Headquarters!

So if you're in New York or close - be there! Wear the Lasers Uniform and bring picket signs! - If you have friends in New York - tell them about it!

And for all people who aren't able to be there, spread the word online! (Twitter / Facebook, Blogs etc.) or if there's an Atlantic Records building in your city, you can go there, too.

For more info's, the exact location & time check/join THIS Facebook group!
(also check the RSVP Page!)

Shouts to all the Lupe Fans on KLive!

  5. now i'm not saying that this is a bad thing, b/c i love lupe as much as the next person...but i mean it's just music. It's not THAT serious. I mean if this was to riot against BP or something for the oil spill i'll understand, but this is for one persons album??? idk, i think it's kinda ridiculous. Like I understand it's been like 3 years since The Cool, I myself am too getting annoyed, but to start a riot b/c we're not getting an album is a little out there.

just my opinion. you guys can disagree if you want.

  6. I think we should raise money to donate to of Lupe's charities in the name of LASERS. If we donate enough it will be very hard for news media and Atlantic alike to ignore. Even if it doesn't work and LASERS still doesn't get released our efforts will help out a good cause.

  7. where did it say anything about rioting?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I live in Queens so I'll be there. There better be more than 18 people there! >___>

  9. Wow. They're going to go all out..But This is different than a artist like a Saigon who's album was shelved...lol.Plently of artists albums have been held... No offense to some of them but lupe album being held is ridiculous..

Grammy nominations, sold out shows, co-signs from highly respected artists & entertainers, Arguably considered the bestlyricist of this generation, gold selling album, moderate hits, and of course Superstar which was one of the top songs in the country of 07...

  10. someone better get a permit. the police have to set up barricades and have the sidewalks accessible. It's fairly easy but someone has to do it.

-I've protested the church of scientology before..

    ReplyDelete
  30. LMAO you guys that aren't from NYC must not know about the NYPD

    ReplyDelete
  31. NYPD don't play, but nobody is going to doing anything crazy, therefore the cops won't do shit .__.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I know one thing for sure.

    Luella is gonna be there

    ReplyDelete
  33. ^^^YOU LUPE STANS ARE WACK AS HELL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. ^ what do you know about the NYPD? probably not much. There are protests in the city all the time. It's our right and permits are readily available. Just stay withing your boundaries and you wont get thrown out.

    ReplyDelete
  35. R U fucking kidding??? A protest?? R country is in recession right now! ok New York! how bout protest to lower the cost of living! expensive ass shit! paying 2,000 dollars for a piece of shit studio apartment! protest that shit. u fucking werid ASS LUPE FANS. Atlantic records probably can't afford to release that shit. Paying their employees 8.00 an hour.GTFOH! Lasers? That albulm title doesnt even sound cool! sounds like bullshit! Like all the whack ass songs that have been leaked from the album. How about u people fall back, and wait until the label drops the album. In the meantime do something productive with your life instead of waiting for a whack ass album from a guy who doesnt give two cents about you!

    ReplyDelete
  36. see thats why niggas cant ever get shit done because of lazy ass niggas like you that dont wanna help and talk down on people that wanna do something
dont like it get yo bitter ass out of here then

    ReplyDelete
  37. You negative people really need to find a hobbie or something. Atleast these people are passionate about something and they want to make their voices heard. You losers can sit behind your computers and call them lames but they are LASERS, they shine, despite the seeming impossibility of what they're trying to do. I'm all the way in Vancouver, BC but I'll be there in spirit.

    Shine on.
    You're BEAMING!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lets keep it 100........we've done all we can.

That petition is all we could do. What did we get? A tweet.

Come on now....a protest? They'll just close the windows and possibly take some pictures....business as usual.

We still in a recession....I'm not trying to pay $2.50 a ride for the MTA or $20 for parking to get to the city.

Its great what we have done to try to get this album out, but it should be clear to you by now that Atlantic doesn't give a flying 7-47 fuck.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wow, this is so tragically lame.

This stopped being about fans wanting an album out (and rightfully so), now it turned into a circus full of people with no better things to do than chasing dreams.

It's just an album, get over it. Exercise, read, go out, get laid, whatever. Don't waste YOUR time on things that will not make a difference whatsoever...

    ReplyDelete
  40. why do people even come to this website thinking so negatively you shouldn't even be listening to the music then it complete contradicts the reason you like his music..... but its ok its ok they'll thank us when the album drop no disrespect i understand some people got better things to do... but the power of music is extraordinary so dnt cancel someone elses heart out because you want to look at a false reality you constantly live your life by.... shooting people down that want to figth for sumthn good is wrong... if this was any other main stream rapper nobody would have a problem with this.... go make a lupe bashing website or sumthn and leave us alone.... and just just thank us when the album finally comes out.... there is a difference btwn a lupe fan and a soulja boy, flocka, rick ross, and etc fan... period

  41. There are two type of people: the conformists and those who actually stand up for what they believe in.

Oh, and for those who said that there are better things to do have obviously never heard of the Tea Party. Those fuckers protest against anything.

One last thing, the recession ended June '09. Fact.

    ReplyDelete
  42. smh at some of you Internet toughguys. We are lame for standing for something we believe in? For some people, music more then just music. It helps them through issues in their lives.

Get off your high horse and stop degrading those who are actually proactive. Instead of whining on this blog 24/7, they are getting involved.

Oh, and is Lupe a lame too for saying he is coming?

  44. Listen,

This protest is for us fans that care enough to go out there and do it, and that aren't scared to stand up for what we so strongly believe in.
If we want to stand outside all day fighting for what we want, in the mist of fall's winds and chilly weather--WE WILL DO THAT, PROUDLY.

And so what if we go unnoticed, Atleast we tried.
I'm not expecting an immediate response from Atlantic. I just want this to be an eye-opener for them.
Our only goal is to shed light on this issue (at the least) because obviously the petition wasn't enough.
If we get nothing else out of this protest, atleast we got to witness the beauty of Lupe Fiasco fans from all over the country coming together as one to not only stand up for ourselves, but also to celebrate Lupe Fiasco as a person as well as one the top emcees of our generation. That's a beautiful thing.
And that right there is enough to keep me satisfied.

Haters and closed minded fools, fall back.

    WE GOT THIS ONE.

    Love Love,
    Luella

  45. Internet gangstas are played out now......wish I could be there, but the word will be spread

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh yeah and BTW...

YOUR DAMN RIGHT I'LL BE THERE.
Lol..Y'all already know I wouldn't miss this for the world. :)

Glad you know me so well.
    Love & Blessings to all!

    -Luella

  47. ^lmao... these comments are funny!

But 4real... i feel bad for this nigga Lupe... i mean, what did he do to deserve all this? he has some dedicated fans but everything else seem ALL BAd for this nigga. smh! wish u all the best bro!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Some of y'all haters sont seem to understand that this protest is gonna raise a bigger issue: how the big recording labels disregard talent for the sake of making a quick buck through retarded songs that contribute to the alienation of the general population. Nobodody dared to do anything about it, or even gave a f*ck until now, there are many people taking the spotlight when they have absolutly nothing to offer while others with real talent never get the credit they deserve. Also record labels force some artist to portray a certain stererotypical image instead of letting them express themselves musically. This is in part what the protest is for and I fully support it. 'Cause I'm allergic to stupid sh*t.
